Michael Di Cerbo, Highway to the Sky, 2005, 50 etching, acquatint, drypoint Light and Dark: “Does art, too, present the world as dark, hidden, having a meaning…?” New York at night becomes a maze of bright lights and indistinct darks. The electricity of this metropolis transforms night into day and acts like a torch in the darkness. Architecture becomes obscured and one senses the existence of a hidden world in the recesses of the windowed edifices. |
